The Blackrod Commercial SAGD, a proposed new oil sands project near Fort McMurray, includes a camp, central processing facility, up to 27 production multi-well pads, borrow pits, drilling sumps, log decks and multi-use corridors. Ecoventure, in conjunction with the client’s HSE Manager and construction company, will be planning, coordinating and supervising the construction of the facilities.

From 2023 to 2030, the next phase of the Blackrod Commercial SAGD operation is for the development and implementation of a research program monitoring plots on soil, vegetation and hydrology on impacted wetlands and transitional lowland/upland areas. Monitoring of construction and reclamation activities will also resume.
Ecoventure has provided strong technical support through the permitting, approval and ongoing construction phases. We are deeply integrated into the regulatory management of the project and we are currently creating a road map to identify and forecast regulatory requirements in support of oilsands development.
